Terms of Service

1. What Grind Observer is
Grind Observer ("Grind", "we", "us") is an AI-assisted claim-verification service. You paste a headline, quote, or link; we route it to one or more third-party AI models and return a verdict, a confidence level, and a list of sources the models consulted.
Verdicts are informational, not authoritative. They are generated by AI models that can make mistakes, miss context, or reflect the biases of their training data. You are responsible for how you act on them. Grind is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or journalistic judgement.
2. Your account
You need to sign in to use most features. One account is for one person. Don't share credentials, don't automate the interface, don't scrape, and don't try to break rate limits or bypass paywalls. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, submit illegal content, or interfere with other users.
You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction (at least 18 in the UAE). If you're using Grind on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for it.
3. Payments
Paid plans and one-off Grind Packs are sold through Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the transaction, collects any applicable tax, and issues the receipt. Your payment agreement for the purchase itself is with Paddle; your agreement to use Grind is with us.
- Premium subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account.
- Grind Packs are one-off purchases that add credits to your balance. Credits do not expire and are not transferable.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Grind to:
- Submit content that is illegal, infringing, or that violates a third party's rights.
- Harass, defame, or deceive other people.
- Generate content designed to mislead voters, defraud consumers, or impersonate real people.
- Reverse-engineer the service, resell verdicts as your own product, or use the output to train competing AI systems.
5. Intellectual property
The Grind Observer name, brand, interface, and code are ours. The claims and URLs you submit remain yours. We do not claim ownership of any third-party article, post, or media you reference — Grind reads and summarises publicly available content; it does not host it.
You may share individual verdict pages and screenshots with attribution. Bulk export or republication requires our written permission.
6. Third-party AI providers
Verdicts are produced by third-party models (currently including OpenAI, xAI, Anthropic, and Google) accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway. Their availability, output, and terms are outside our control. If a provider is unavailable, Grind will route to another model where possible.
7. Disclaimers and liability
Grind is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to Grind is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on a verdict.
8. Termination
You can stop using Grind and delete your account at any time by emailing us. We can suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms or for conduct that puts other users, providers, or the service at risk. Sections 5, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continuing to use Grind after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Contact
Grind Observer is operated as a sole trader by Pirzada Rauf Ahmad ("we", "us"), based in Dubai, UAE. For legal notices, support, or refund requests, email support@grind.observer.
